Welcome home
Hi, I’m Sharon.
Mom of three boys, wife to an Albanian electrician, and former opera singer. Somewhere in the middle of ordinary life, our family found ourselves being drawn into the Catholic Church.
We didn’t see it coming. We weren’t searching for a new denomination. We were just living — carpools, work schedules, school pickups — when something started to shift. A surgery. A community that showed up. A Facebook link that led to the Catechism. A retreat my son dragged me to that I almost skipped. Question after question, answered in ways that only raised more questions — until one day we looked up and realized we weren’t Protestant anymore.
This is the journal of that road. If you’re somewhere on this road too — curious, questioning, somewhere in between, or already home — pull up a chair. You’re not alone in the questions.
— Sharon

He Knew We Were Supposed To
I showed up to my son’s First Communion retreat empty-handed. My ten-year-old caught me from the back seat — and led the way.
