Hi, I’m Sharon.
This is our family—right in the middle of ordinary life and something deeper taking root at the same time.
I’m a wife and mom of three boys, and in the midst of all the usual things—carpools, noise, and long days—we’ve found ourselves slowly being drawn into the Catholic faith.
This space is where I write about that… and about the work of building a home along the way.
This is where our faith journey begins:
We Weren’t Looking for This
How our family found its way to the Catholic Church. Not a dramatic conversion story — just a family who wasn’t looking for church, until life made them look.
An Entire Chandelier Still to Discover
What happened after the questions started. A mom scrolling Facebook, clicking a link, and realizing she had accidentally started reading the Catechism. And then not being able to stop.
He Knew We Were Supposed To
What my ten-year-old taught me about faith that I wasn’t expecting. He couldn’t let it go that we arrived at his First Communion retreat empty-handed. He understood something before I did.
And this is how it all unfolds in daily life:
I Couldn’t Let It All Disappear
The post that started it all. The whole picture of our life right now — the conversion, the school decisions, aging parents and in-laws, Albanian grandparents who brought their whole world into ours — in one place. Start here if you want to understand what this journal is and why I’m writing it.
The Next Time She Needed Someone
A chaotic moving day, a leg giving out halfway through, an Uber driver who was unexpectedly kind, and a husband who noticed everything quietly. This is the kind of day this journal is for.
That’s what you’ll find here — and that’s why I keep writing. Because we can see ourselves in each other’s stories. And seeing each other is how we hold each other up. Subscribe at rootedathome.substack.com — and let’s hold each other up.
